Heike no Sato is a recreation of a village with several folk houses which was built in 1985. 800 years have passed since the Heike lost the battle with the Genji, and the Heike no Sato was created to convey the lifestyle of the fleeing Heike warriors after the loss. Old daily life tools, and statues of Taira no Kiyomori and Atsumori are on display and exhibitions of kibachi trough carving and sales of famous products are also carried out.
