The Nikko Yuba Factory is located about 1.5km southeast of the Osawa interchange on the Nikko-Utsunomiya road. Yuba is a processed product made from soybeans which was originally introduced as a vegetarian food from ancient China. It was introduced to Nikko from Kyoto and was an essential source of nutrition for ascetic monks. Nikko Yuba is slightly different than Kyoto Yuba, it has more volume because it is wrapped in several layers. Visitors can purchase yuba and also experience making yuba here.
